Male vs Female Fat Loss - Disadvantages & Advantages For Both… (Part 1)

Top 5 Reasons Why Women & Men Find it Hard to Burn Body Fat

After discussing the top 5 reasons why women and men struggle with fat loss, this article will point you to 3 proven exercise and diet techniques that will help you boost your metabolism and lose as much fat as possible within the next 12 weeks.

Members of both sexes tend to have problems losing weight and achieving a dream body, but who has it better…?

The top 5 evils preventing women and men to lose weight are:

#1) Poor nutrition

This has to be the biggest devil. Poor nutrition, bad quality food or too much fast food…

Unless you have an inhuman monster-metabolism you will gain weight by eating lots of bad quality food or fast food, guaranteed. So, start here first. If you just improve the quality of your food, you’ll experience major health and mood improvement plus weight loss.

Advantage: Women

Reason: Most women make more well-informed food choices. Men in general are less informed and often don’t realize that not only the quantity, but also the quality of the food determine the amount of calories they receive.

Note that no exercise can really out-train the huge amount of extra calories taken in by bad nutrition.

#2) Muscle loss

Reduced activity and muscle loss both decrease metabolism and constitute the second reason men and women struggle with weight loss.

Advantage: Men

Reason: Most men have by nature more muscle mass than women and they often tend to get more exercise.

Additionally, women tend to neglect a key element of the fat burning equation: strength training (which men do more). Women fear weight training will make them look less feminine, which is actually not the case, because women are built differently by nature. Women should do weights in moderation.

If you want to lose weight you should aim for fat loss and muscle gain at the same time.

Note: Fat loss is not the same as weight loss.

If your weight loss was a result of actual muscle mass loss, then you have done it wrong and you were probably subjected to a wrong type of fad or starvation diet (see resources below).

#3) Too much exercise (and the wrong type of exercise).

Both men and women won’t like their results if they only do slow (and boring) cardio.

Advantage: Men

Men tend to do more interval training and for fat loss this is more effective than slow cardio.

#4) Lack of social support

Without social support, men and women find it hard to lose weight.

Advantage: Women

Reason: Men often tend to do things on their own, but as we all know weight loss is much easier with some degree of social support and encouragement. It’s not just about the exercises and the meals…

Women do seek help from friends, family or even at the gym more often than men do and that is actually great. Life is much easier with support, so do look for it!

#5) Poor exercise choices

Advantage: Tie

Reason: While it’s not your fault, showing up at the gym without a plan, or just going for a jog and do some crunches is really not the way to go.

Don’t exercise without the right plan, because you will not be able to experience the fast weight loss results that are actually possible. You should follow a professional plan (tips below) to get you in the right direction, because otherwise your time will be wasted (without dropping enough weight).
