How to Lose Weight and Keep it OffLosing weight is not impossible, but one must avoid getting stuck in a rut and going down the yo-yo highway. In order to be successful, you need to follow a routine and do some healthy things every day. In other words, don’t go to sudden extremes that cannot be sustained. Don’t starve yourself for one week thinking that your body will take it. And don’t exercise manically either. Keep it much simpler and you will see long-term results quicker and find them easier to follow. Tip #1. Start with realistic goals and a sustainable diet plan. If you get over the top and look to lose all your extra fat in one day, it’s not going to be easy, obviously… Setting unrealistic goals is one of the main reasons for most people to fail and lose motivation. They don’t see desired results straight away, although success might have been just around the corner if they only followed through a bit longer. Choose a diet plan that can be sustained and that will not make you starve and crave. Tip #2. Don’t overdo exercise! (Notice the emphasis is on “overdo”, not on “exercise”! ) Exercise is very important, but you need to do it the smart, easier way (not the hard, long and boring way). To see weight loss results all you may need to do is follow the right exercise plan three times a week for about 20 minutes per session. This is called interval training and consists of short intense exercise bursts (of 20-60 seconds) followed by longer cooling off periods (1-2 minutes). Studies show that this type of exercise is is much more effective for fat loss than long boring cardio. Also, this routine CAN be sustained. (Resources attached below.) Warning: Always consult with your physician before embarking on a specific exercise activity. Due to your specific health conditions some exercises might not be suitable for you (or even dangerous). Tip #3. Support. Life will be easier if you have someone to share your specific weight loss goals with and go through the process together, be it a family member or a support group. Losing weight together is easier with people who are in the same boat as you will be able to keep yourselves motivated. Sometimes all you need to success is that little bit of extra support and encouragement. Tip #4. Your mindset. You need to see food and life from a different perspective. To lose weight you have to change something about yourself. No magic pill will strip all your fat in an instant (unless it damages your health first). For example, you cannot keep eating fast food every single day and lose weight at the same time.
Just start now, today! Don’t wait for a special sign from somewhere to do the decision making for you. If you are overweight or obese, just get in the right mindset now, not later! (One step at a time. You will make it!) |
